For Sale: 1969 Honda Motorcycle in Bennington, Vermont for sale in Bennington, VT

1 of 27
Vehicle Description This 1969 Honda CT70 (Trail 70) was inherited by the seller, who describes the bike as in highly original condition, except for the seat cover and taillight assembly (see photo).
She says the original taillight assembly, which needs a lens, will be included in the sale.
Honda introduced the CT70 to American buyers in summer 1969, and this sophisticated minibike quickly became the dream ride for teens (and even some adults) around the country.
This 1969 model bike is from the first series, known as a K0 (K zero), of which more than 200,000 were built through 1971.
More notably for collectors of these little Hondas, however, this bike is a very early model, one of the first 15,500 or so nicknamed Silver Tags for the silver-colored identification tag on the front neck of the pressed steel chassis and body.
These lack a date of manufacture, which had not yet been mandated by the U.
S.
authorities.
The later models had dated black tags.
As #3661 out of about 15,500 this CT70 was likely among those sold in the first weeks of distribution.
The Silver Tag models were notable for their numerous differences from later Black Tag models.
Unique to these early-production CT70s are wheels with no bosses and spokes that are flat in the center, a lip on the front fender, a fabric-covered high beam light in the speedometer, black plastic brake levers, crude welds on the chainguard, a bolt-on (rather than spot-welded) tool carrier under the seat pan, a one-piece stator cover, thinner handlebar knobs, and an exhaust pipe with a short, tapered tip.
Some of these features can be seen in the provided photos.
The seller says this CT70 runs and rides great and is in good condition overall with original paint and chrome.
She believes the miles shown to be original.
