For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza in Abington, Massachusetts for sale in Abington, MA

Vehicle Description I have a confession to make.
This one doesn't cut the muster here at OCG but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a new life.
Here we have a somewhat sad, second generation Corvair convertible.
Nicely equipped with the optional 110 HP engine and a FOUR SPEED MANUAL transmission.
This is the model lots of guys seek out.
Hard starting but once warmed up, the pancake six purrs like a kitten.
NO LEAKS! NO SMOKE! NO NOISES! A nice, smooth engine, transmission and clutch that most likely was professionally overhauled at some point in it's life.
Just endured a 3 hour turnpike ride from Boston to central Maine.
Car didn't skip a beat.
Thar being said, this car has had a very old restoration that indeed needs refreshing.
Corrosion is present in various locations throughout but not earth shattering either.
Most notably on both lower front fenders and inside the door jamb at the base of the hinge pillars.
Again, not a lost cause.
Trunk floor was replaced with formed sheet metal and riveted into place.
Does the job but not pretty (see pics).
This car is a 4 out of 10.
The proverbial 20 footer.
So you have two choices with this car.
If you have or know someone with skill, bring it to the next level with a welder.
A fresh coat of Mist Blue paint and a convertible rear window (it's oddly missing although the top itself is in terrific condition.
).
A couple of door panels.
Maybe some reproduction seat upholstery from Clark's Corvair Parts here in Massachusetts and you've got yourself a sharp, show, cruise and parade car.
OR.
.
Just rebuild the carbs.
Give her a tune up and fluid change and drive the living heck out of it just the way it is! It's very presentable.
It's not a loss cause.
We've seen far worse but not up to our caliber.
We don't restore cars here.
We are selling this car exactly the way we got it.
We'll most likely take a loss on this one but it's more important we move it to a better home.
These cars are increasing in value.
This one checks a lot of boxes.
It's a second generation convertible with the in demand four speed transmission.
