The current owners purchased it in 2010 at a Mecum Auction in Indianapolis.
The original color scheme was black and white, but during restoration was changed to still period correct Fiesta red and white.
The vehicle is powered by a 312 cubic inch V-8 and transfers its power to the rear wheels via a three-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission.
This was the larger of the two engines available for the 1956 Thunderbird.
The vehicle has had limited use over the past decade.
The tires have recently been checked by a certified mechanic and verified they are in good shape.
It has been run over the last few weeks, and there is evidence of one small, slow oil leak near the driver's side of the engine bay.
The speedometer is front and center on the dash, with clock, fuel and temperature gauges, as well as the tachometer, and all are fully functioning.
The AM/FM stereo with 8-track player is currently disconnected, because there was some type of electrical short.

The interior headliner from the hardtop is a beautiful pearl white and is in excellent condition.
The red and white interior, dash, carpet, gauges are all in excellent condition.

Included, though not currently installed are the fender skirts.
There are some visible scratches on the back side of the spare tire holder.
You can only see this if you go looking for it on the backside, as shown in the photos.
Just above the driver's headlight there is a spot of bare metal about the size of a dime also shown in a photo.
These are the only imperfections to the exterior paint.
The chrome bumpers and moldings shine in the sunlight.
This Thunderbird has the classic wire spoke wheels and whitewall tires.
The undercarriage is solid and shows no signs of rust.
The engine bay is clean, though you can see the paint peeling on the radiator fan casing.
