Vehicle Description Originally, the Dodge Dart was thought of as an economy car for the customers who were on a budget.
Dodge made several performance versions of the Dart and in the late sixties, Dodge engineers beefed up the build by offering high performance big-block engines and the cars were built to compete with the other manufacturers muscle cars.
1969 was the best year for performance as buyers could get a Dart with a Slant Six engine or all the way up to the 440 HP big-block.
Styling changes for 1969 were subtle changes from the prior year model.
The grille was slightly different as well as the trim, a bumblebee stripe was now on the rear, and simulated intake ports were in the hood along with parking lights.
The GTS model was produced from 1967-1969.
It was the hottest Dart version of the B-body cars that year.
