1 of 9
Vehicle Description This matching-numbers 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 convertible is one of 1,171 produced and is documented with two Broadcast Sheets listing the W29 option, proving it's a true 442.
It is powered by its original 350ci 8-cylinder engine backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission.
The M in the VIN number confirms it is an original 350ci 4-barrel car with dual exhaust.
Upon completion of the restoration, it was shown at AACA National Meet in Hershey, PA, in October 2016 and earned a First Place award in its class.
The original paperwork from 1972 is still with the car, including the two Broadcast Sheets, Protect-O-Plate, owner's manual, vehicle warranty, letter from the dealership manager thanking the owner for their purchase, pre-delivery checklist and various mechanical invoices.
Coming from Oklahoma, the car was rust-free and all-original.
The exhaust pipes on the car are the original exhaust pipes and were ceramic-coated to preserve them, and trumpet tips were added.
This vehcile is loaded with options, including the Thornton steel-frame Ram Air hood that was added in 2016 during the frame-off restoration.
Other options include SSI wheels, Goodyear Polyglas tires, Sunfire Yellow paint, white interior, bucket seats, console, power steering, power disc brakes, sport steering wheel, Quadrajet carburetor, AM/FM stereo, sport mirrors and hand-painted factory 442 stripes.
The concours, frame-off rotisserie restoration was completed in September 2016 and the car has been driven less than 200 miles since its completion.
Hemmings Muscle Machines featured the car on the cover in September 2017 with an extensive article about the restoration in the Restoration Profile section of the magazine.
