Vehicle Description 1964 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO Car History Chevrolet El Camino is a coupe utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959-1960 and 1964-1987.
Unlike a pickup truck, the El Camino was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.
Introduced in the 1959 model year in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero coupe utility, its first run lasted only two years.
Production resumed for the 1964-1977 model years based on the Chevelle platform.
The 1964 modified El Camino, like the one we have here at Adventure Classics, received a total restoration back 2012-2013 when it was painted a bold and striking red paint job backed up by a performance-built small block under the hood.
Engine & Drivetrain The engine bay has the bright red and tidy look of a careful investment.
There's plenty polished shine on the much modified 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 engine with over 350 horsepower featuring a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, headers, finned polished air cleaner and matching valve covers, upgraded chrome pulleys, alternator, chrome Vintage air conditioning compressor, braided lines, performance ignition and distributor, modified fuel delivery system, power steering, power Wilwood disc brakes, dual exhaust system, performance spark plug wires, and more all backed by a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission.
It rides on polished 17 American Racing alloy Torque wheels and modern Nitto Radial performance tires.
Interior The black racing type interior has black Corbeau racing seats with Simpson Racing belts, matching door panels, headliner, carpeting, an all-out racing dash with Autometer Pro Comp gauges, a performance tach, modern stereo radio and speaker system, 3-spoke wood steering wheel, custom flame floor console that houses the floor shifter, and accessory floor mats.
Exterior The 1964 has a great Rosso Corsa Red paint color on the body with the bumpers painted the body color also.
It is de-badged and looks mead that way and has nice body lines and body panels that are straight and uniform, with the trim looking nice too.
A trunk bed liner is a plus too with it having a Horkeys Show wooden deck with 13 coats of the red urethane on it and a Haartz custom tonneau cover protecting it.
Conclusion The very nice modified and restored 1964 Chevrolet El Camino we have at Adventure Classics is very well done and will make the new owner a great cruiser to add to the collection.
It is a very strong runner, looks and sounds great, and you can tell there was a ton invested in this unique classic.
Now is your opportunity to get something so well equipped at such a nice price.
