Vehicle Description 1959 Cadillac 6-window Series 62 Nice, straight, low miles '59 Caddy.
This car has been in our small southern town for as long as anyone can remember, has 63,000 original miles.
Car was running and driving when garage stored in 1991.
Last year, the car was pulled out, gas tank dropped and cleaned, replaced rubber fuel lines, carb rebuilt, new oil/filter, plugs, wires, new battery installed, etc.
When we turned the engine over, the car started immediately and just purred.
No smoke, no knocking, and runs smooth.
Can't even hear the engine when in the car.
Car is all factory untouched original except for a repaint of the correct color at some point.
The interior is the untouched factory green.
Original seats have no tears, no stains.
A good cleaning would do wonders.
The carpet is original and fragile, headliner has no tears but has a large stain in the rear.
I have not tried to clean or lighten it.
The original dash is cracked.
The floor and trunk pans have no rust that I've found and seem very solid (see pictures).
Tires are ancient but still fully inflated and don't lose air.
In fact, I've been driving short distances on them without a problem.
When buying a car for my collection, I always look at roof rain drip rails as a sign that a car has been kept outside in it's past.
These are absolutely solid and clean with just a few areas of very light surface rust.
The car came with factory power windows, power brakes, power steering, Autoronic eye, E-Z tint glass (no cracks, no fogging).
The paint is presentable.
Some worn spots, scratches, a few dings but looks good overall.
No clear coat on the car so I wet sanded some areas and the paint smoothed out nicely.
Drive like it is or buff paint out and make it shine.
Caddy needs a brake booster (brakes are hard but work) and a few minor things but despite a little, typical rust here and there for a Southern car, little would be needed to make this a driver as is or restore.
I have a set of new radial whitewall tires I can sell with the car for an additional $600.
