Learn Jazz Drums in Elsah, IL

This is a Jazz drum comping album with 15 tracks on it and no bonus tracks at all. Please play along with each comp on your drumset with headphones on. The left hand was using a brush on the snare drum and the right hand was using a drumstick. Feel free to use a brush in your left hand or a drum stick. The bass drum is always playing a four on the floor pattern. This type of bass drum pattern is used in big bands. So every 1234 there is a bass drum. Said in another way the 1st beat has a bass drum, the second beat has a bass drum, the third beat has a bass drum, and the fourth beat has a bass drum. The hi-hat closing pattern is always on the 2 and 4 beats. The ride cymbal is playing a standard jazz swing pattern. If you have any questions please contact me. On this website is a contact button. Don't give up and take your time with each exercise. If you find yourself frustrated take a break and come back and play more later. To make things more difficult you can try playing the bass drum very quietly (playing quietly on the bass drum is called feathering).
