In addition to being a piano tuner, I also happen to be a professional musician. The piano is one of the instruments that I play. When I tune a piano, I tune it to sound musical, not like it's been tuned to a machine. Furthermore, there are adjustments that can be made to the regulation of pianos that are described in books on how to tune, repair and regulate pianos. It's one thing to go by what a book says. It's another thing to know what works the best. Really fine adjustments can only be made by someone who truly knows how to play the piano in a variety of styles.
