Extremely Rare Nikon 8008s w/ Kodak DCS200- '92 Digital Camera- Collector Item for sale in Cobden, IL
This is a collectors item, although it does power on. In 1992 Kodak partnered with Nikon to release affordable digital backs, meaning low megapixel digital cameras that worked with existing cameras. The Nikon 8008s was a low cost, electronic SLR, and somehow Kodak felt that putting a digital sensor in it would sell. The original price was just under $2,000 and less that 3,500 sold. Later on, more DCS versions came out for other cameras, and this first foray into digital backs was forgotten. As there are only 3,500 out there, and this one is near-mint and turns on (haven't tried pictures), I think any camera collector and enthusiast should add this to their collection. I can't even find a record of these selling on ebay, so welcome to a very rare auction. I'm not including a nikon lens, unless you demand one.
