Estate find! I do not know much about the artist other than a few blurbs I read. Francois Thango was a Congolese Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1936.These two pieces I believe are acrylic or oil paint on stretched canvas. Unfortunately they have been neglected and need some love. Each measures approximately 24" x 31" The two separate panels depict a bustling market scene with vibrant colors and undeniably wonderful African dress designs of the time. One displays a tear in the fabric that can be seen in photos 12 & 17 (front and back respectively). I am hoping someone will I've these enough as is or will properly restore them. It really is phenomenal art!I try my best to describe my items as truthfully and accurately as possible. Many of these items are collectibles oriented towards various hobbies of mine.
