Hardwood base easily folds down by lifting up the front end on both sides and sliding down. Comes with two matching side pillows. The futon mattress itself is extra thick and heavy. It's very dense but has held up well over the years we've had it, no holes or scratches, etc. Feel free to come take a look and/or message us with any questions 307752XXXX.
