Pre-war Gibson Conversion Banjo for sale in Longview, TX
On consignment... This is without a doubt the cleanest Gibson TB-00 conversion that I've encountered in my nearly 20 years of buying, selling and trading these old banjos. Hopefully, the pics will illustrate this. The coolest part to me is that the hardware is CHROME PLATED. All original pot assembly with the exception of the newer unmarked Remo head. One-piece Doehler flange, maple rim, 'cloud' tailpiece, flat tension hoop and hooks, three 'L' brackets, single-piece armrest, one (1) coordinator rod, single bound resonator with three (3) mounting screws. The conversion neck is perfectly matched to the resonator and has a very nice 'D' profile with virtually no play wear showing, outside of a few blemishes on the peghead overlay. It has Krishot pancake style tuning machines with a geared 5th string peg. The only change that I'd personally consider making to the banjo is either adding a shim to the bottom of the neck heel or have it re-cut. There is a bit of a gap there. That's it. But the action is great as-is, 5/64" at the 3rd string/12th fret. It will come shipped in a super sturdy TKL hard case as pictured.
