This is a beautiful handmade Haynes flute from the golden age of Haynes flutes. It is solid silver, has gold springs and a gold headjoint riser. It has plateau (closed hole) keys. In my opinion, open holed fl utes play the same as closed hole flutes and I have never played a half tone which is the main reason you play an open holed flute. I roll the headjoint to bend sounds just like an open holed flute. I have played this beauty regularly for almost 20 years in various community bands, community and church orchestras and pit orchestras. It has never failed me. It has a GORGEOUS warm tone and plays beautifully. It was overhauled a few years ago by John Gill in Sacramento who worked for Haynes. It has gold pads which give it a warm sound. It's time for me to retire from playing so much, so I'm offering this beauty at a bargain price. I paid way more than what I'm asking. This flute was adult played and cleaned after each use. This would be a terrific flute for you or your up and coming flutist to take through high school, college and beyond. I will consider reasonable offers.
