Freshly RESTORED and Reconditioned Vintage Celestron 8" , Orange Tube SCT telescope, on Equatorial Wedge and field tripod. 2032mm Focal Length , 203mm ( 8") mirror and corrector This is an early Vintage, 1978 model, manufactured in California, with all metal parts. Optics are Very Nice . I have tested this unit and it has very sharp resolution.Lots of fine detail seen in Jupiter's Cloud belts.. This is a pre go-to mount, but does have smooth manual motions with clutches and slow motion controls, and setting circles. Also has clock drive on the RA axis to keep your sky objects centered in the field of view. Comes with 5x24 finder scope, 23 mm( 62 degree) eyepiece (88X) 1.25" diagonal and visual back, field tripod, equatorial wedge, and 120V power cord. Works Very Well.. Optics clear and sharp. Mirror and Corrector and secondary still in very good shape, and all have been recently cleaned internally and externally. Due to the age of the glass, there is some fine, micro- scratches on the front exterior side of the corrector glass. These do not have a negative affect on the views or resolution of the telescope. This scope was fully overhauled and reconditioned by me.... I have been an amateur astronomer for almost 50 yrs. I am experienced in rebuilding optical devices, and have reconditioned and sold over 350 optical units including telescopes and microscopes, to date, with many happy customers. This gorgeous telescope is now ready for another 50 years of showing Celestial objects in great detail! This is a great piece of history, and is a great scientific tool.
