Antique vintage tennis racket racquet. This a Harry C. Lee model Dreadnought Driver. The wedge has gold emblem Harry C. Lee & Co., New York. The Other side of wedge has Dreadnought Driver in gold lettering with Re. U.S. Patent Off. in black lettering. One side of throat has in black lettering Harry C. Lee & Co. New York, U.S.A. also stamped in 14. Other side of throat has in black lettering Pat. Mar.10th '08 # 881 266. Handle is large octagon shaped with 4 sides having deep grip grooves 2 sides have 4 grooves and 2 sides have 3 grooves. the other sides are plain. Trebling on the shoulders. This racket has the slot through the handle which was patented in 1908 to lighten racket. Strings and trebling are intact, has double vertical mains and extra trebling on strings. Butt cap has great Emblem on it. Solid and straight 27" long. Head = Oval Handle = Large octagon with deep vertical grooves on 4 sides Wedge = Concave Availability = Scarce Butt Cap & Strap intact with maker's emblem on cap.
