Maintenance Mechanic
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will accomplish routine and emergency repair, evaluation and installation of plants and structures, and facilities to include environmental systems, radar, communication and navigational aid antenna systems. You will work alone or as part of a group performing mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, cable installation/replacement, welding/metal fabrication and painting. This position requires knowledge and application of materials; and safety and security regulations, practices and procedures. You will work from blueprints, work orders, plans, sketches and other written specifications and oral instructions. You must be able to maintain, repair and use a variety of hand tools, testing equipment and power equipment characteristic of the various trades. You must be skilled in the operation of light to medium duty construction equipment such as lite trenchers, backhoes and front end loaders. To qualify, no specific length of experience or training is required; however, you must show evidence of experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of a journey person Maintenance Mechanic in your resume. This position requires knowledge, skill and abilities in various trades of work such as mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, welding/metal fabrication, painting and general knowledge of electronics and equipment. Your resume must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position to be filled.Eligible candidates will be ranked based on DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES, if applicable.
