Redshift Database Administrator
WB Games seeks a Redshift DBA for the WBG Burbank Analytics Platform department.
The Warner Bros.
Analytics (WBA) team provides data analytic services to support game teams and analysts across the WB Games organization and is co-located at the Turbine game studio in Needham, MA.
What part will you play? Deploy and administer AWS Redshift, columnar data lake, and SQL query engines.
Automate provisioning, operation, monitoring and troubleshooting of the database and data lake infrastructure.
Provide consistent database maintenance, optimization and best practices inputs to existing Redshift and SQL databases, data lake, SQL engines, and applications.
Provide Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution with RPO/RTO objectives and SLAs.
Create smart solutions for the problems we encounter with a willingness to do maintenance type jobs.
What do we require from you? A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or comparable experience.

years' work experience with AWS Redshift or another analytic columnstore, or xternal columnar data format, like Parquet or ORC, combined with a SQL engine, like Hive, Presto, or Impala.

years' experience with SQL analysis, development and troubleshooting activities, including data warehousing, analytical applications development and support.
2
years' experience with enterprise database operations as a primary DBA.

years' experience with data lake and SQL engine design, operations, and maintenance experience.
Experience with MPPs.
Experience with analytics on a big data stack.
Experience with AWS services and AWS CLI.
Ability to code / script in Python.
A demonstrated understanding of analytic data modeling for big data and strong data analysis skills.
An understanding of the differences between columstores and row stores.
An interest and ability to learn new technologies.
Be results focused, with an interest and ability to work under challenging deadlines and constraints.
An ability to support remote teams and customers.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
