Job Description
The Desktop Support Technician will be a very hands-on, member of a the Technical support team responsible for PC desktop, laptop configuration, mobile device, and application support including Windows operating systems, software and other applications. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal communication skills.
Using effective communication, technical, and analytical skills the Desktop Support Technician participates in projects, provides technical support including maintenance and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
System/Application/Network Support
Develop, configure, and deploy Enterprise Desktop and Laptop images
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Applications running hosted on Windows Servers, and installed on desktops and laptops
Ensure desktop and laptops computers connect seamlessly with network environment, including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems
Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to help minimize downtime
Desktop Support
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Windows 7 and Microsoft Office and any other authorized desktop applications
Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment
Perform remedial repairs on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment
Maintain all Information System assets and identification of assets
Excellent technical knowledge of desktop, laptop and printer hardware and software
Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards
Working technical knowledge of network infrastructure
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist essential preferred
A and N experience preferred
Software and Hardware Troubleshooting
Windows 7 experience
Microsoft Office support
Desktop and laptop imaging experience preferred
Working knowledge of Active Directory and remote control tools
Telecom, VoIP experience a plus
Professional image and grooming
Analytical and problem solving skills
Good communication (both verbal and written) skills
Planning and organizing skills
Strong listening skills
Weekend work when required
Travel when required
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree with 2 years in an IT related position
Desktop and laptop imaging preferred
Physically able to lift and move Enterprise and Client technology hardware
