Corps Program Assistant

Overview.Responsibilities
Promote observance of the Mission, Values and Doctrines of The Salvation Army.
Involvement in the total Corps program
Responsible for sharing with the Corps Commanding Officer, all matters of mutual concern relating to the total welfare of the Corps Program.
To serve as a liaison between the community and the Corps. Seeking to establish a close relationship with the Corps and its activities.
Coordinate & develop music ministry and programming of Corps including but not limited to brass music, piano and vocal music in cooperation with Divisional Headquarters.
Coordinate Star Search and Divisional Arts Ministry participation
Develop and maintain programs and ministries to enhance the healthy spiritual, physical and emotional development of those under your influence.
Develop and maintain an intensive relational ministry with the youth congregation of the corps.
Assist with conducting weekly teen or young adults program.
Participate in the development and implementation of an innovation Christian Education/Sunday School Program.
Develop and maintain contacts with youth at local schools where such contact is permitted.
Develop and maintain an active recruitment and training program for youth leaders within the corps setting.
Develop and maintain a mentoring program within the corps for teens and young adults.
Qualifications
A uniformed Salvationist, in good standing
Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsible, respectful, positive role model and be able to follow instructions
Patient and able to assist, work with and develop children
Must have a valid NY Driver's License
Must be willing to be soldier at Westbury Corps
Be willing to commit to this ministry
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, and others as required.
Bi-lingual, (French or Creole) should be a must.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
