Job Summary
Wounded Warrior Project's (WWP) Direct Mail Manager will lead the Direct mail team through the day to day production of Direct Mail solicitations from copy through creative, fact checking, branding, and accuracy, as well as interfacing with staff across departments, agencies, and vendors. This position is also responsible for strategy management, acquisition and retention of mail donors, and will work closely work with all revenue department teams, particularly Direct Response Television, Direct Response Online, Fundraising, Business Operations, Marketing, and Communications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee integrated mail fundraising strategy across all Resource Development teams to include all Direct Response channels
Oversee campaign strategy, tracking, reporting, and production of direct mail campaigns (donor, acquisition, lapsed, sustainer, and acknowledgment)
Manage direct mail vendors and direct mail initiatives
Approve program strategy, creative direction, testing, and tracking
Develop and evaluate monthly analytical reporting and testing to make strategic recommendations as necessary.
Develop and manage annual budget; monitor and moderate budget(s) within the overall cash flow
Provide detailed and executive level reporting for mail activities including results of each campaign, goal attainment, and return on investment as needed (monthly/quarterly/annually)
Drive Direct Response revenue; managing vendors, content, and communications designed to acquire new donors and maximize revenue-per-donor with the goal of converting existing donors to sustained givers
Support development of long-term investment strategy by increasing database/acquisition, donor renewal, lapse donor/opener, social media, multi-channel, new revenue development for strategic partnership/grants and for acquisition channels based on measured channel performance
Collaborate with Resource Development and Communications teams to identify opportunities for leveraging online fundraising assets
Facilitate negotiation, coordination, and implementation of test agreements and RFP process
Lead development of creative identity and branding guidelines to increase and diversify WWP's donor pool through brand recognition
Coordinate approval of production schedules, timelines, processes, and projections
Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or Journalism.
Minimum of three to five (3 - 5) years of experience in a staff management role required
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications or marketing required
Strong knowledge of best practices for direct mail and email, creative, segmentation, dynamic content, testing methodologies, deliverability, and list growth required
Experience managing and/or working with direct response marketing agencies preferred
Nonprofit experience preferred
