Quality Control Representative
JOB SUMMARY This position will report to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for overseeing the quality of the concrete products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of all governing specifications for concrete products. ie A.S.T.M. and D.O.T.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant concrete ingredients and their application (aggregates, cements, admixtures, etc.)
Generate mix designs and oversee plant adherence to same.
Spot check for proper design, scale weights, water demand, slump, entrained air, yield, unit weight, materials mix, and any other required specifications at field locations and at the plants.
Perform physical tests of the concrete at the plant and in the field as required, make appropriate adjustments to in process concrete.
Observe and record activities of outside testing agencies and contractors as they relate to and effect both the fresh and finished product.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, government agencies, inspectors, sales, distribution, production, etc.
Keep written daily log of activities and observations and report in writing to management as required. Note misuse of products by driver or customer and take measures to correct same.
Report field issues to Q.C. Manager
Input statistical data into the computer on a regular basis.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School Diploma with strong math skills. College Degree with field of study that supports the Construction Industry is preferred. Engineering, Concrete or Busniess Managment
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Computer literacy is required. MS Office experience preferred.
Minimum one year in concrete testing. Inexperience can be offset with appropriate college courses and or related degree.
ACI Level 1 Field Testing Certified, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work in a team environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Generate ideas to improve quality and increased margins in all operations.
Investigate complaints regarding product quality or quantity and prepare documentation in response to same. Give opinions when appropriate to customers concerning field issues.
Participates as an active member of the assigned empowered work team(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to lift up to 75 lbs. to waist high a minimum of 10 times a day.
The ability to climb an 8 foot plus ladder a minimum of 20 times a day.
The ability to walk and stand on uneven or slippery surfaces for an 8 hour plus day.
Must be able to operate Company vehicle for minimum 8 hours per day including entering and exiting the vehicle frequently.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must work outside in all weather conditions, heat, cold, dust and rain a minimum, of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week and some Saturdays. Noise level reaches a maximum, of 100 db for up to 3 minutes 10 times a day and average 80 db for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Will work with Portland cement, concrete, gravel, sand, fly ash, and associated admixtures.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
