Director of Manufacturing Strategy
Location: Sylmar, CA
The primary focus of this position is assuring that all manufacturing operations and processes result in meeting the highest standards of quality, schedule and cost performance. The Director of Manufacturing Strategy is also responsible for being a Lean champion and implementing processes in support of the Esterline Operating System, and relentlessly pursues continuous improvements.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Management of global manufacturing activity for the Mason Electric business unit, within the Communication & Control Systems platform Director of all project activities at the platform level -for all 5 sites-, including mentorship and guidance to staff within the sites to successfully achieve & complete each project.
Drive all internal and Corporate driven integration projects future state planning & implementation.
Create overarching strategy & implementation plan for moving products to Mexico or any applicable Competitive Cost Country (CCC), and coordinate local integration within Esterline South campus or beyond.
Follow and use EOS guiding principles along with Lean - 6 Sigma.
Provide other Control & Communication Systems Platform support as required to meet strategic business objectives. Below are some examples:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to use those skills with direct reports, peers, cross-functional team members, customers, and upper management
General knowledge of all manufacturing, supply chain, and safety processes and specific knowledge in area of responsibility
Knowledge of and the ability to implement Lean principles.
Self-sufficient in all areas of responsibility
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to set and implement strategic vision for department, tying to corporate objectives
Education &
Experience:
BA or BS degree, technical or engineering discipline preferred.
This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing and at least 5 years of production senior management experience

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
