Summary:
Work with manufacturing leadership to develop production schedules that meet customer requirements while creating efficiencies in manufacturing. Plan availability of raw material components and finished goods to minimize inventory and maximize customer service. Responsible for supplier development and continuous improvement in procuring materials and services.

Responsibilities:
Create production schedules to meet customer requirements and expectations
Analyze requirements from the production planning system. Work with manufacturing leadership to develop schedules that are attainable and recommend capacity improvements.
Ensure SKU's are set up and maintained to support the desired in stock position.
Ensure that load tag quantities, order policies and ERP and planning system settings are synchronized with actual practice and consistent with the company's inventory objectives.
Drive improvements to meet KPI's by determining root cause and counter measures.
Assist in the implementation of lean management fundamentals relevant to the purchasing and production planning area. To include MDI, LSW, Kanban, and Heijunka.
Analyze recommendations from the MRP system to plan materials. Evaluate item availability and net requirements based on demand for assigned items.
Create new production/ purchase orders, expedite, defer or cancel existing production/ purchase orders based on forecast or changes in actual demand.
Actively manage and measure supplier deliveries to achieve 98% on time performance.
Resolve problems related to purchase orders, invoices and shipping and receiving issues.
Coordinate ECN (Engineering Change Notice) activity affecting existing and new purchased items.
Provide timely information to Customer Service on component or finished goods availability.
Disposition MCR's (Material Change Request), communicate with supplier and identify root cause. Seek permanent corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
Create monthly supplier scorecard to measure quality performance and achieve PPM goals, share with supplier each quarter. Provides input to Commodity Manager on supplier performance.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise and experience in the area of inventory planning.
Education: High School Diploma required. College graduate desired or will possess some post high school education.

Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years material/supply chain planning experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
Certification from a professional organization such as APICS, ISM or CSCMP is required within 2 years of acceptance of position.
Must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, high energy and capable of driving change.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
Strong communication skills and ability to work with people in one-on-one and in team settings.
Flexible and capable of dealing with multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
