Radiology Technologist

Under the supervision of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, the staff Technologist performs routine diagnostic radiologic procedures and monitors for adverse reactions.
Must be able to handle a wide variety of assigned Radiographic duties that require independent judgment and attention to detail.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to perform procedures appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and fellow employees.
Functions independently.
Knowledge of and ability to operate general radiological equipment, fluoroscopic equipment, C-arm, portable X-ray equipment, teleradiology equipment and film processors safely and according to standards. Knowledge of and adheres to federal and State radiation safety guidelines regarding patient and operator protection, collimation and shielding and operates equipment in accordance with these standards.
Wears dosimetry badge at all times.
Ensures patient protection by using lead shields, lead aprons, and gonadal shields.
No observed incidents of safety violations.
Properly label all films with correct patient data and date of exam and utilizes proper markers when performing the exam.
Knowledge of required preps and contrast for specific exams and can independently administer to patient and/or instruct patient on its use. No more than 2 incidents of improperly prepped patient due to lack of education or improper administration of contrast. Always questions patient regarding allergies prior to administering contrast material.
Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction to contrast material and take the appropriate steps to treat the patient.
Working knowledge of IV access supplies and techniques and the skill to effectively access the vein for IV contrast material.
Requires minimal assistance.
Ability to assist with radiological procedures utilizing sterile technique with no observed delays in procedure due to a break in sterility. Has knowledge of the required equipment needed for each procedure.
Accurately completes all required questionnaires and consents for exams when indicated. No more than 1-2 incidents of incomplete consents, questionnaires, or Advanced Beneficiary Notices per quarter. Inquires about LMP/pregnancy status on all females of childbearing age.
Knowledge of the Radiology schedule and can accurately and independently schedule a patient for a variety of exams performed. Knowledge of the computer system and is able to accurately input orders for exams/procedures into the system. Knowledge of the system of charging for Radiology and can accurately input charges on all procedures performed.
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Associates Degree in Radiology Technology
Maintains all necessary continuing education required to maintain licensure
Experience with Routine Diagnostic procedures and cross sectional anatomy
Ability to handle other Radiographic duties as needed
Licensed State of Illinois
Current IEMA and ARRT registered or obtains within one year of hire
Maintains Basic Life Support certification
Able to work competently under stress and exercise independent judgment
Must possess good human relation/communication skills
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to perform procedures appropriate to the age of the patients served
Has the ability to perform a variety of radiologic procedures with consideration to quality of the films
Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Experience preferred but graduate technologist meeting employment criteria considered.
Cat Scan experience preferred but not necessary.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
