Director of Marketing & Business Development III

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for communicating the Simon and Premium Outlets brand narrative at the local center level via sourcing and executing property level marketing and business development initiatives. Responsibilities include: revenue generation through the sale of property and media assets as well as the creation, development, and implementation of the overall strategic marketing direction of the shopping center. The Director of Marketing and Business Development will also be responsible for soliciting, selling, and managing the assets of the mall to consumers, advertisers, marketing companies, and the surrounding business communities.
PRINCIPAL
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Developing and executing an annual marketing plan which strategically utilizes all platform programs, supports the corporate marketing objectives and positively impacts the center's core financial objectives EBIDTA, SBV income, leasing, sales, overage rent, traffic, and market share
Identifying, creating, and selling revenue opportunities through strategic positioning of mall assets, media assets, and mall programming in order to achieve the financial sales goals of property
Developing and implementing retailer intensification strategies
Promoting platform program opportunities to, and fostering relationships with key retail partners
Implementing corporate direction regarding all national and/or regional Simon/PO brand marketing and SBV programs and initiatives at the field level
Forecasting and maximizing marketing dollars by analyzing ROI on a monthly basis
Forecasting SBV revenue and associated media expenses monthly in line with revenue goals
Managing data input and use of Salesforce as related to tourism, deal management, lease actions, and inventory
Where applicable, overseeing and executing tourism programs to include: local/regional/national/international/SSD initiatives
Coordinating all shopping center visual merchandising, signage and advertising programs
Establishing and maintaining local media relations by fielding media calls and drafting responses
Driving growth of our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter, as well as data collection, SMS, and Email (subscribers) for the specific business units
Creating and implementing VIP Shopper Club acquisition plan tailored to the individual property market and core demographics
Overseeing management and budget of the Guest Services including the hiring and training of Guest Service Manager and Guest Services Associates, and monitoring job performance of all Guest Services staff
Partnering with the Guest Services Manager to drive growth of Simon Gift Card programs
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
BA or BS degree with emphasis in sales, marketing, or business
4-6 years previous experience in sales, sponsorship, strategic marketing, event management, and budgeting
Knowledge of retail management, marketing and advertising and working knowledge of the media industry
Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling, and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others
Superior computer skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing are essential to success
Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
Strong team building and coaching skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Some overnight travel required
Ability to think strategically
