Manufacturing Systems Engineer (DeltaV)

Responsible for Plant Automation/MES technical design engineering for all projects and enhancements.
Ensures system solutions meet all safety, quality, and reliability design criteria.
Collaborates with Systems Engineers to support automation integration into Proficy and SAP solutions.
Provides input on the direction for future systems automation and integration opportunities through active participation in enterprise-driven capital projects impacting the Shenandoah plant.
Provides leadership and expert technical support to on-shift Engineering Technicians.
Provides ongoing coaching and training to Plant Operations and Technicians to improve plant proficiency in the use of automation and MES solutions.
Ensures sustained integrity and stability of Plant Automation and MES solutions in a 7x24 operating environment through strong governance and best practices.
Maintains Automation and MES system software and hardware at appropriate revision levels.
Maintains site-specific systems and solution documentation.
Owns systems disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Facilitates productive working relationships with local business partners and other key automation vendors.
Monitors and reports system performance and health metrics.
Ensure adherence to corporate manufacturing systems standards.
Lead change management introduced by systems changes (People & Processes). Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline preferred.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment with primary responsibility developing and supporting plant automation and MES solutions.
Preferred technical competencies include Emerson DeltaV Batch, Rockwell Automation, GE Proficy, and Plant Historian platforms.
Strong process control skills required to drive continuous improvement opportunities resulting in manufacturing systems and process optimization.
Previous manufacturing experience in controls automation is strongly preferred.

Skills Requirements:
BS or Technical degree in Engineering or Computer Science required
Team player with good interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing controls environment preferred
Knowledge of Manufacturing Data Acquisition and Communication Networks
Ability to work in a self-directed work environment with little or no supervision.
Knowledge of world class operating principles including six sigma preferred.
