We are seeking an onsite or offsite Estimator for the Fort Payne, Alabama location. This position is a direct report to the Sales Manager of the division and does have the opportunity to work remotely, however onsite would be preferred.
Job Responsibilities include:
Prepare joist and deck take offs based on the contract drawings in accordance with Valley Joist's manufacturing and detailing processes
Work closely with the sales department to best utilize time bidding projects that will best increase sales volume.
Manage work load to meet time sensitive bid dates on all projects.
Coordinate and relay information to the detailing department to facilitate faster drawing times.
Skills
Required Skills:
Minimum 3 years' experience in interpreting commercial construction building plans, emphasis on steel construction
3
years of commercial Estimating experience
Strong analytical, mathematical, verbal & written communication skills
Multitasking abilites
Problem-solving skills
Computer proficiency: windows, word, excel, internet, e-mail & design software a plus
AutoCAD Experience a plus
General construction knowledge
Construction field experience a plus
Engineering background a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
