The 66-bed hospital provides more than 60,000 patient services each year, with half of those services being offered in the Level 4 Trauma-designated Emergency Department. Clinical services include inpatient and outpatient imaging, intensive care, express lab, inpatient rehabilitation, women's and children's services, orthopedics, sleep disorders treatment, and surgery.
Summary/Objective
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count, label, pre-package, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders under pharmacist supervision.
Essential Functions
Fill medication carts, first doses, and IV fluids under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Utilize barcode technology and tech check tech as appropriate to verify that medication information is complete and accurate.
Prepack bulk medicines, prepare unit of use medications, and type and affix labels.
Deliver medications and IV fluids
High school diploma or equivalent
Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registered Technician
Moderate-term on-the-job training, hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Sterile Products (IV) Certification preferred
Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
