Report Program Generator Programmer
Responsibilities:
Will create and maintain programs using all of the application development tools deployed by Client Group, INC.; including but not limited to RPG400, RPG4/ILE, RPG Free, CL, DDS, SQL, iForms, Sequel, TL AshFord and Mark Magic. Code will be accurate, optimized and effective.
Will support BPCS LX, Stratum, PKMS, and all other iSeries software applications.
Will ensure all code is thoroughly tested and signed off by users and developers prior to promoting to production environment.
Responsible for documentation and communication of all programs/processes when required.
Will employ effective troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
Responsible for designing solutions that support the business initiatives and goals of HGI.
Ensures projects are completed accurately, timely, and to specifications.
Maintains basic understanding of business & business system's functionality.
Act as backup for other application developers.
Adhere to all development standards and quality guidelines.
Assist manager in software/release management, systems administration, operating system support and period close processes.
Provide support for daily computer operations and troubleshoot any development issues.
Act as helpdesk support resource.
Required skills:
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Must be able to determine business requirements and logically layout solution before start of software development. Know when to utilize external resources for solution development.
Ability to lead team for development of business solutions. Must be able to participate and represent the IT solutions in cross-functional team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organizations. Must obtain good listening skills to understand user requirements so to aide in development of software solutions.
Ability to sell potential options in explaining software functionality and developing solutions.
Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision daily. Must be able to take lead on problem resolution.
Understands the importance of quality in regards to application development and helps defines and sets quality standards for IT development staff.
Utilizes logical approach to troubleshoot issues to identify root cause. Understands IT guidelines and assesses risks before taking corrective action.
