Job Description
This is a full-time position. You will be the office manager of a small logistics company that specializes in buying and shipping alfalfa hay. As the office manager, you must be able to be assertive and get tasks done without direct instructions; when you see a need you need to be able to fill it; you must be able to multi-task and be able to switch back and forth between all aspects of the company efficiently. Because this is a smaller company, there is never a boring day at work, every day is different and you will always feel like you are an important part of the company. The company is like a family and it is a very positive environment to work in.
Responsibilities
You will work directly with the owners of the company and controller to make sure that all aspects of the business runs smoothly. We also have 7 company truck drivers that you will be responsible for their paperwork, keeping their loads and pay tracked and keeping the fleet in FMCSA compliance. You will also be responsible for assisting the controller with bookkeeping. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the office, as well as payroll of all employees. You will be also responsible for tracking inventory in our yard as well as on our farm. You will be responsible for all paperwork that goes into buying and selling the hay as well as working with customers to collect payment.
Qualifications
Must have Quickbooks experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and be fluent in drafting and replying to emails
Must be able to communicate efficiently via telephone and via texting
Logistics/Trucking experience is a plus
Must have office experience (at least 2-3 years)
Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task efficiently
salary will be dependent on experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
