Financial Analyst / Assistant Controller

AvantGuard is seeking a driven and organized Financial Analyst / Assistant Controller to join our team. AvantGuard is a truly independent wholesale alarm monitoring company that provides services to dealers and their subscribers nationwide. We offer premier wholesale monitoring services from our two fully redundant, UL Listed, CSAA certified five diamond central stations, and are considered a leader in the alarm monitoring industry.
Responsibilities

Perform a variety of accounting and finance duties including journal entries and reconciliations, assisting with month-end close and financials, accounts receivable, financial analysis and budgeting
Analysis and delivery of monthly/annual financial results to the Controller
Assist with monthly data gathering, financial reporting, and budget control
Develop and enforce internal control procedures
Provide suggestions regarding process improvements and assist with the implementation of new systems and processes
Collaborate with departmental managers to support company goals and objectives
Implement training for accounting staff, teaching new and reinforcing existing skills
Promote and implement cross training to ensure proper checks and balance are involved in each accounting staff s duties
Check accounting records for accuracy, track and resolve errors, and complete accounting functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations
Assume responsibility for the effective performance of accounting and financial functions
Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with clients, outside auditors and regulators, and professional trade groups.
Other duties as assigned by Controller and/or CFO

Qualifications
Qualifications
Four year degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of four years working in a related accounting/finance position
Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements
Understanding of General Ledger accounting
Thorough knowledge of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA helpful but not required
Must pass criminal background check and drug screenEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
