Sanders Retirement Community located in Gloucester, VA is seeking experienced social work candidates for a Household Mentor (Social Worker) opening.


Job
Summary:
The Household Mentor works in partnership with the Household Nurse Mentor to promote short-stay guest well-being and satisfaction by supporting guest-directed care. The Mentor provides leadership to the household team, keeps the overall functioning of the Household running smoothly, and fortifies the vision of the Household. This individual supervises employees within the scope of licensure and household responsibilities. As a working leader, the Household Mentor performs tasks essential to the direct care of the guests according to facility and RHS policies and procedures. The Mentor assures the Household's ability to promote the psychosocial well-being and care transitions of all guests, as well as to plan and carry out social activities in the Household. The Mentor facilitates a real team approach that empowers staff and guests to make autonomous decisions. As an employee of the Household, the Household Mentor is considered a versatile worker and is cross-trained in different functions of the Household within scope of licensure (if applicable) in order to meet guest needs as they occur.


Education:
Bachelor's degree is required or Associate's degree and two years of supervised social work or human services experience required. Upon employment willing to complete state approved Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP I course).


Certifications/Licensure:
Acceptable driving record with current valid Virginia driver's license is required.



Experience:
Two years leadership experience preferably in healthcare, senior living, family and aging services, mental health, children's services is strongly preferred.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
