About the Position:


The role holder is responsible for the LNG Operations Department complying with all aspects of the companys Process Safety program which governs MAH (Major Accident Hazards) sites. Role also includes participation in monitoring of program effectiveness, and governance model to ensure compliance with internal requirements.


Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


Liaise with personnel from the US Process Safety Group which has overall responsibility for the implementation of the process safety program company wide. In this function you would receive directives that need to be implemented in the LNG Operations Department.


Become proficient in the operations and maintenance of the LNG plants and how that applies to the process safety function.


Develop and implement plans that take these directives and apply them to the appropriate functions performed by the LNG plants.


Work with businesses on process safety incident review and provide guidance to them


Share lessons learned and best practices across the businesses


Process Safety incident and root cause trending


Maintain risk assessment inventory and risk portfolio


Periodic assessments of business risk reduction activities to ensure progress


Maintain Process Safety LNG SharePoint site


Maintain outreach with engineering areas to ensure lessons learned factored into new designs


Assist in developing and monitoring continuous improvement efforts regarding process safety


Develop, perform and document any training programs that would be required to properly implement process safety in the LNG plants.


Become an active member of committees initiated by the US & UK Process Safety Groups and disseminate information from these meetings to LNG.


Attend training sessions given by the Process Safety Group or by Outside Vendors in order to increase and stay current with the requirements of process safety.


Take responsibility for developing, maintaining and reporting the KPI (Key Process Indicators) to the process safety group from LNG.


Become knowledgeable in the 12 company RCS (Risk Control Standards) and how and what LNG Operations is required to do to meet these standards.


Work with every plant to assure they are meeting all aspects of the 12 RCS. Develop and implement an inspection program to assure and document the LNG plants compliance with the Process Safety Program.


Work with other MAH departments relative to process safety to share knowledge in this process and standardize where possible.


Become knowledgeable in the application of SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) relative to LNG plant instrumentation systems.


Take responsibility for the LNG Management of Change process.


Coordinate and manage drawings for facility assets. Ensure the delivery of updated drawings and illustrations for equipment and processes of LNG plants


Become proficient in the PHA (Process Hazards Analysis) function by attending the necessary training classes including but not limited to : PHA, LOPA, FMEA, QRAs, Facility Siting and SIS


Take responsibility for the LNG Operations PHA program, which includes LOPA & QRA, by participating in assigned plant PHA, generating PHA reports, maintaining PHA Action Logs and working with the plants to complete action log items. Then providing the Director of LNG Operations and the US Director of Process Safety any requested information and data.


Become proficient in the companys Incident Management System so that you can provide assistance to the LNG plants in completing incident reporting as required.


Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:


A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or 5 years of supervisory experience, or 5 years practical experience in methods, processes and techniques relevant to LNG operations.


Technically proficient with Process Safety Management



  • Strong understanding of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.119

  • Strong understanding of LNG plant operations and maintenance functions.

  • Understanding of plant Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) with ability to edit and verify

  • Experience performing process safety risk assessments and using other process safety tools

  • Experience performing compliance assessments or audits on process safety applications a plus



Must have strong organizational skills in order to develop and implement inspection programs and report on the results and provide resolutions to findings.


Must have the skills to work alone and as a member of a team when performing PSM functions.


Must have computer skills in order to develop reports and presentations


Must have the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships.


Must be flexible with assigned work projects within LNG Operations in order for the department to effectively deal with issues that arise as part of fulfilling its company responsibilities


Strong verbal and writing skills to ensure effective communications


Strong engineering, project management and analytical skills


Ability to tailor process safety solutions to Company resources and requirements
