The Manager of Software Development oversees and monitors the activities of one of the Software Development teams.
Responsible for cost-effective and timely planning, development and implementation of software applications.
Provides guidance and support to direct reports to ensure they meet their objectives.
Ensures documentation of all systems, as well as long-range project and resource planning to meet goals.

Works with end-user departments to understand product needs, ensures that team has appropriate product and technical specifications, and assures quality of products in coordination with Quality Assurance.
Provides input and guidance on projects being led by other managers or team leaders, coaches, develops training and guides professional development of staff members.
Leads projects; manages and maintains development methodology; develops, refines and implements product development procedures; and develops, maintains and follows the corporate development, GUI and database standards.
Establishes realistic estimates for timelines and ensures that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
Supervises activity of developers including assessing needs, assignment of work, and evaluation of resource requirements.
Help developers resolve technical problems, monitor and utilize organizational performance measures to meet goals, and ensure appropriate creation of documentation of products.
Leads evaluations of product development tools, vendor evaluation and service activity.

Qualifications include a Master's Degree in Computer Science with 5
years of experience or combination of education and experience demonstrating leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to manage the programming area.
Three or more year's management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational, leadership, training, and development skills.
Web based development experience is required using client side development technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery and third party controls such as DevExpress.
Experience with the Microsoft.
NET Framework using ASP.
NET and VB.
NET highly desirable as well as experience with GIT, TeamCity and Octopus source code management, build and deployment strategies.
Ability to analyze problems, utilize resources, and initiate programs and applications designed to improve productivity.
Knowledge of project management methods, development methodology, and familiarity with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
