Senior Accountant

Overview:

The Accountant III will be responsible for assisting in facilitating and maintaining month end processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in public and corporate accounting. The Accountant III reports to the Associate Manager of Accounting.


Responsibilities:

Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts by designated timeframe and according to company policy. Reconciled items must be identified, properly supported and resolved in a timely manner.
Researches any data anomalies to source, quantifies any data problems, and summarizes findings to management in a timely manner.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, which include preparation of journal entries, capitalization and depreciation of assets, account reconciliations and producing GAAP financials
Perform G/L Account and Bank reconciliations
Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying worksheet papers and narratives. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
Facilitates payment runs
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries
Provides supporting documentation for audits
Completes all administrative tasks associated with the team
Assist with system implementation efforts
Assists with establishing team policies and process documentation
Acts as a mentor to Junior Staff Accountants and Staff Accountants
Adheres to financial and record keeping procedures of the company.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Consistently ensures that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies


Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of related experience
2 years' experience in public accounting strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
Previous experience working for a software or technology company a plus
Computer literate:
proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
Software literate:
proficiency with accounting software (preferably NetSuite)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively
Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, changing environment that is going through high growth
A self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, who can proactively identify issues/opportunities and recommend actions
Strong results orientation
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Must be knowledgeable of system functionality and transaction processes to detect any accounting data anomalies, data corruption, or invalid data

Education/Certifications/Licenses Required
BS in Accounting
CPA highly desired

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
