Staff Accountant

Millennia Housing Management, an industry leading property management company headquartered out of Key Tower in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, is looking for a Staff Accountant.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or working towards a Bachelor's Degree.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be career driven, and be able to handle multiple duties and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Pay for this position is based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Preparing Financial Statements and Statistical Reports such as:

  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform balance sheet and budget comparison analyses and explains variances through notes to the financial statements for assigned portfolio.
  • Completes year-end audit work papers for external auditors for assigned portfolio.
  • Annual budget preparation and other related budget activities.
  • Assists in developing company processes to promote efficiency.
  • Maintain files and records as needed.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies so as to be trusted with sensitive information.
  • Provide assistance as needed to external auditor's requests.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedule for assigned properties.
  • Prepare cash flow analyses for assigned properties

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
