Job Description
Seeking a positive and organized individual that has at least 3 years experience as a paralegal, preferably in CRIMINAL DEFENSE. The ideal candidate will have worked in a private criminal defense firm and have a genuine interest in helping defendants and their families weather through the criminal justice system. Must be willing to frequently let loose and party with the staff (we try to have a company social each week if time permits, such as golf, lunch, a movie, bowling, etc.).
Responsibilities
Review evidence and write summaries for the attorney to help him be prepared for upcoming hearings and/or trials; prepare exhibits; subpoena evidence; follow up with law enforcement agencies and prosecutor's offices in order to obtain evidence; interview potential witnesses, etc.; research case law and statutory law to provide attorney answers to legal questions that could assist our clients in deciding which legal options would be best for them and their families. Must be willing to discuss the status of cases with clients from time to time if attorney is unavailable. .
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate or associates/bachelors in paralegal studies, 3 years experience, preferably at a criminal defense firm. Must be a team player and willing to accept responsibilities from time to time that are out of the box.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
