Job Description:
Atchison Village, a 450 unit mutual homes corporation in Richmond California is looking to fill an immediate opening for a maintenance/plumbing technician. This is an experienced, skilled labor position. This position performs plumbing, carpentry, electrical and general maintenance. STRONG RESIDENTIAL PLUMBING SKILLS REQUIRED.
The Maintenance Tech position is responsible for assisting the General Manager and the Lead Maintenance Tech in all areas of building maintenance but with a primary focus on plumbing.
General areas of responsibility are:
o Inspecting and repairing water lines, sewer, air valves, gauges, pumps, and
fixtures to include sinks, toilets, water heaters and furnaces.
o Unplugging clogged drains and pipes
o Installing sump pumps
o Minor electrical including replacing switches, outlets and light fixtures
o Ordering of supplies
o Minor drywall, patching and painting
o Minor carpentry
o General building maintenance
o Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or the Lead Maintenance Tech
Must Have Job Requirements For Maintenance/Plumbing Technician:
- An intuitive and proficient knowledge of residential plumbing
- Possess the technical skills necessary to perform assigned
maintenance tasks to a successful conclusion
-Ability to perform assigned tasks in an orderly and timely manner
-Excellent customer service skills, good communication skills, problem solving skills, can-do attitude
- Five years verifiable plumbing experience
- Three to Five years general maintenance experience
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Ability to lift 80 pounds
- Be physically and emotionally fit for duty
-High School degree; technical school or college preferred
-Valid California Driver's License and good driving record
