Work closely with design originators, preparing drawings or computer models of unusual, complex, or original designs. Perform unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise. Assure that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawing produced. Exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent. May occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details. May provide advice and guidance to lower level drafters or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.
Requirements
8 years of related experience. Design experience supporting military fabrication. Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. Ability to develop production level electrical design drawings of schematics, cable assemblies and electrical sub-assemblies for the fabrication and installation of simple components to complex systems and platforms. Must have an understanding of military and industry drawing standards and a working knowledge of what is required for the development of various levels of a drawing package.
