Project Manager - Utility
We have an immediate opportunity with a large Utility company Utility company in the Concord, CA area.
Overall responsibility in managing teams, schedules, and communications for line of business to support DCCC Project
o Monitors milestones and deliverables to identify issues early, develops workarounds and communicates/ escalates to leadership and sponsors as applicable
o Develops & maintains plans and objectives, including metrics to assess progress, using established standards
o Understand scope of project and monitors to ensure scope is met and not expanded
o Work with the line of business to effectively coordinate and complete any user acceptance testing required for system enhancements and/or new tool deployments.
o Develop, maintain and communicate status and metrics for team project(s).
o Identify, track, manage and escalate issues
o Create and maintain project work and resource plans to ensure workload and resource availability alignment
o Identify, propose, and influence solutions to complex business problems
o Obtains staffing requirements and forms project teams
o Provides the team with constructive performance feedback
o Conducts regular reviews with sponsor and formally confirms final acceptance and satisfaction
o Directly assist the design, development and implementation of the change management/communications strategies within the project.
Minimum Qualifications:
o BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or Information Systems, etc.,
o Minimum of 3 years of job related experience in Business, IT, or Engineering fields with a focus on technology project management
o 3
years leading technology projects of moderate/high complexity with focus on resource management
o 3
years leading teams
o Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
o Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
Qualifications:
o Some knowledge of the Electric Utility business and Electric Operations business functions
o Experienced level in time management skills managing many tasks and dependencies across multiple subject areas and projects concurrently
o Experience with developing and delivery communication strategies
o Experience in Issues/Rick management and resolution
o Expert oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
o Ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions to various levels of management
o Creative problem solving and analytical skills
o Thorough understanding of program management concepts, methods and techniques
o Experience with managing 5
