Selected candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the eye and visual system in adult veteran patient. Assess and examine patient to diagnosis and develop treatment plan. Manage ophthalmic condition, taking into consideration both medical and psychological aspect of patient care. Perform surgical procedure related to injuries and disease of the eye and visual system. Collaborate with other physician specialist and medical staff in overall treatment of patient medical condition. Manage medical disorder affecting vision, such as inflammatory, vascular, neurological and genetic disorder, thyroid eye disease, diabetes and stroke. Communicate with patient and family member, educating them to understand their medical condition. Support health promotion and disease prevention activity. Complete clinical charting and documentation appropriately and in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the united states, or in the district of Columbia.
Education
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree required.
