Senior Commodity Manager

Position
Summary: The Senior Commodity Manager will study, define and manage the supplier base for various commodity ingredients, focusing mainly on coffee, tea, vanilla beans and sweeteners.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Direct responsibility for the management of assigned ingredients across all domestic locations.
Utilizes strategic sourcing methodology to develop category strategies, sources, negotiate and manage suppliers to deliver total lowest cost materials and mitigate supply risks.
Monitor raw materials to ensure cost and availability protection.
Responsible for analyzing, establishing and maintaining qualified, uninterrupted sources of supply.
Contact suppliers to maintain vendor partnerships and achieve zero defect quality objectives.
Monitor and maintain accurate quote files, component pricing, material discrepancy reports, updated delivery status and special cost adjustments.
Achieve assigned goals regarding inventory levels and inventory turns.
Maintain strong supplier relationships.
Monitors all purchases, assuring compliance with quantity, specifications, quality, delivery and price.
Responsible for negotiations on price, terms and conditions, and establishing purchasing and price agreements that fall within the scope of delegated responsibilities.
Communicates market/pricing developments
Maintain complete awareness of commodity market trends by watching markets, reviewing trade journals and issuing quotation requests to qualified suppliers.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline required, APICS and CPM certification preferred
6-10 years of experience in a purchasing environment, in the food and beverage industry
Must have demonstrated success in negotiations
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive results required
Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships across departments required. Must have the ability to partner cross-functionally in order to achieve objectives.
Ability to travel internationally as required, including visiting vendors/growers and other Company locations.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
