Montessori Teacher
Join our team of fabulous educators at the YMCA Montessori Preschool! We are in need of a part time Montessori Lead Teacher for children ages 18 months to years old, 3-6 years old.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old and hold a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Elementary Education or the Human Services field?.
Applicant must meet DHS requirements of possessing an American, or equivalent, High School Diploma and Bachelor's Degree. If the diploma or degree is from an international school, the diploma or degree must be verified by a credential evaluation service.
Must have one year of Early Childhood experience and must be Montessori Certified (18 months to 3 years old -or- 3-6 year olds)
Must be willing to work flexible part time hours
Must have good written/verbal communication skills
Must speak English fluently
Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement the essential components of a Montessori classroom that will engage a toddler or preschooler into a world of accelerated social, emotional, intellectual and cognitive development
Act as an observer and keep an open creative mind when understanding each child's needs within the environment
Maintain DHS standards and regulations
Establish goals and objectives and hold parent conferences as specified
Deliver positive communication with parents of Montessori students, including two scheduled conferences during school calendar year
Responsible for the safety of the children in his/her care with the ability to predict and prevent, identify and respond to safety problems
Supervise classroom assistants and guide in the learning of the Montessori method
Attend all staff meetings and trainings as specified by the Director
