PeopleSoft Application Database Administrator (DBA) position exists to provide expertise for our Global PeopleSoft (PS) Human Resources (HR) and Portal 9.X applications. This role works in collaboration with the PeopleSoft systems teams, management, and IT groups to deliver enterprise and system-level consulting direction; and design, troubleshooting and strategic direction for PeopleSoft solutions. The position is responsible for Oracle database and application tuning recommendations, performance monitoring, investigative troubleshooting, capacity planning, and oversight of database-level security.
As the PeopleSoft Application DBA your key roles and responsibilities will include:
Provides PeopleSoft Application DBA technical expertise, delivery and thought leadership within the PeopleSoft HR and Portal Application suites, version 9.0+.
Interface directly with Service Providers to leverage defined work requirements and deliverables.
Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
Ownership of ongoing tablespaces and storage management, including direction on reorg, indexing, purging, and archiving
Plan for growth and changes (capacity planning); setup and maintain documentation and standards
Perform application tuning; database tuning; query/SQL tuning; and performance monitoring in collaboration with other support teams.
Collaborate with the PeopleSoft domain architect ensuring that all PeopleSoft HR and related solutions adhere to the company's architectural standards.
Seeks diverse ideas, perspectives, best practice and industry trends from a variety of sources (internal and external) to provide enhanced Oracle and PeopleSoft solutions, products, and services.
Challenges the status quo, as needed, as it relates to PeopleSoft HR and Portal applications.
Oracle database patch review and impact analysis for PeopleSoft applications
Proactively manage the database environment to identify and recommend alternatives for problematic coding; including consulting with end users and developers for resolution forward.
Assist application development resources with database design considerations and SQL optimization.
Assist with the data security model designs to help protect data; audit responses; and maintenance.
Provide service and support determined by the current Service Level Objectives, including on-call support.
Provide support for database and systems issues in collaboration with IT personnel through resolution.
Provide overall strategies per industry best practice for HR and Portal systems.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Developer, Toad, UNIX Shell Scripting, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), PeopleTools 8.5X and above, Oracle RDBMS 11g/12c
Familiarity with PeopleSoft HR and Portal 9.X applications
Working knowledge of Operating Systems, such as Linux Redhat 6
and Windows Server and Client systems.
Working knowledge of Oracle data integrity and how Oracle acquires and manages resources.
Current experience with leveraging ongoing maintenance on Oracle databases in a PeopleSoft Context.
Working knowledge of physical database design and server architectural requirements
Experience in code migration, database change management, and data management through SDLC and ITIL.
Experience with performance tuning of PeopleSoft application components and Oracle databases.
Ability to provide a strategic database direction for the organization.
Working knowledge of Purge and Archive strategies and technologies
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and problem solving skills, ensuring excellent customer service.(R)
Proven ability to work independently and manage ones time (R)
Proven ability to lead major technical project design, engineering and integration efforts with strong attention to detail
Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
Ability to design work requirements and collaborate with Service Providers for the delivery of such.
Ability to work and collaborate effectively with offshore resources and matrixed support models.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
