PLASTIC INJECTION - PROJECT ENGINEER
Starting salary range: $55-65K, DOE.

Position

This position is responsible to act as a liaison between internal departments and the customer ensuring projects are projects are launched on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
1.Budget Tooling, manning, equipment, packaging, materials
2.Documentation Operation standards, ANPQP, parts list, packaging, scheduling, part sketch, panel gauge, materials list, layout design, purchased components list
3.Project Management Implement and oversee layout construction, Stamping tryout scheduling, Quality verification, coordinate Assembly acceptance
4.Customer Support Meeting customer pre-production shipments, frequent customer visits, parts approval, Engineering change information
5.Project Launch Initial flow, manufacturing support, Assembly transition, work cell efficiency improvements, trouble shooting, JIG adjusting
Other Duties and
Responsibilities: 1.VA/VE activities that involve part design modifications and process altercations to reduce overall cost
2.Investigate new sources for tooling, equipment, materials, and purchased parts
3.All other duties as assigned
4.Training in mechanical or industrial engineering

The incumbent spends approximately 15 - 50% of his/her time scheduling and attending tryouts. 15-30% of his/her time coordinating engineering changes and quality improvements. 15 - 50% of his/her time is spent quoting or seeing quotations from outside vendors. The purpose of these contacts is to confirm costing & lead times, to discuss design concepts, changes & concerns, to gain clarification on how to design the part and to negotiate part concepts, changes & concerns.
Working Conditions
This position occupies open office environment. Exposure to weather elements is not likely. Incumbents are not likely to drive a vehicle while performing job responsibilities. Incumbents spend approximately 40% sitting, 30% standing and 30% walking in the course of this position and are unlikely handle materials greater than 25lbs. Incumbents will use the following office machines while performing job duties: computer, printer, copier, fax, telephone, calculator, Microsoft Office, hand/power tools, and Auto CAD.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
