JOB SUMMARY
The Toddler Child Development Specialist will support the Director in the development and implementation of the centers overall educational plan by:
?Monitoring and supervising classroom and playground activities to ensure childrens needs are met and interests are encouraged.
?Creating annual classroom goals and evaluating progress in meeting the goals.
?Assessing each childs development and plans appropriate goals.
?Conducting classroom observations, preparing observation and child assessment results, and presenting reports in parent meetings.
?Overseeing classroom documentation boards and learning center displays, and ensuring classroom portfolios are maintained according to NAEYC standards.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years professional experience working with toddlers in early childhood education setting are required with Bachelors degree. Five years of relevant experience required with Associates degree. Some previous supervisory experience desired.

?Ability to understand and implement the Strengthening Families Initiative model
?Ability to meet with parents to formally orientate them on classroom philosophy, policies and procedures.
?Must be able to physically interact with children, involving both fine and gross motor skills, and lift up to 40 pounds
?Ability to work in a team, supervise staff and conduct performance reviews
?Ability to analyze data and interpret data to improve operational strategy
?Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
?Develop and maintain professional relationships with families, colleagues and public
?Meet all agency requirements related to driving record and insuranceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
