Summary:
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer forms diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.
Responsibilities:
Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
Performs routine and complex studies and assists physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
Ensures high-quality of all images and documents sent to digital storage or PACS (image quality, correct markers, annotations and patient data/history). Provides prompt submission of all images and documents to PACS. Responds promptly to Radiologists/Cardiologists requests for additional imaging or quality improvement.
Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies: State, Federal and Local, and Joint Commission.
Provides clinical education for students enrolled in the Medical Science programs. Accepts personal responsibility for professional practice by adhering to the standards of the profession.
Education &
Experience:
Previous hospital Sonography experience preferred.
2
years Sonography experience required for PRN positions.
Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program required.
Licenses & Certifications:
American Registered or Registry Eligible Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) preferred. If Registry Eligible, registry is required within 90 days of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
