REGISTERED NURSE- FLOAT POOL, ICU/ER- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Full Time
This position requires at least 1 year experience in ICU and ER within the last 3 years
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned nursing units, (Med Surg, Ortho, ICU and ER), utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Newborn through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in the units as listed above. The scope of care provided on each nursing unit involves the care of patients with various health problems and with varied levels of complexity
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Completion of an accredited Nursing program
Minimum Experience
One year experience in a specialty area (i.e. ER, ICU) within the last three years
Sufficient computer skills are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment learning requirements.
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
Current California RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Current ACLS, PALS, NRP & MICN certification prior to hire or must enroll and complete the first available Barton University course
Physical Demands
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations
Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations
Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands
