Operations Support Manager

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production processes of the hardwood flooring manufacturing operations. Primary responsibilities include implementing the daily production schedule so that production schedules are met while financial, quality of products, and time constraints are respected, monitoring the processes and supervisors to ensure a daily practices upheld, and consistently developing the efficiency of the processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
o Provide direction and leadership for all department team leaders and supervisors.
o Research, recommend and implement improvements to help reduce cost, improve process flow and enhance efficiencies.
o Responsible for monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
o Responsible for communicating the production ladders and ensuring they are adhered to.
o Responsible for the safety, quality, productivity and cost goals of department listed;
a) Inspect daily yield performances in each department through hourly walks inspecting chop off-fall, quality of materials loaded onto planer in feed conveyor, rip line arbor configurations and feed alignment
b) Audit plank and strip mills product rack outs for grading consistency, fit, and packing identification and pack quality.
c) Review frame saws for lamella thickness checks.
d) Ensure all rework is addressed timely and shorts are being mixed during ladder runs.
e) Conduct warehouse walks to ensure product organization or warehouse integrity is compromised.
o Responsible to ensure team leaders and supervisors adjust labor needs daily to support schedules.
o Track team leaders/supervisors performance against established standards.
o Work with team leaders/supervisors on implementing company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
o Actively promote safe work practices in all operations.
o Assist with the development leadership skills regarding communication and consistency of practice. .
o Other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Desired Education and
Experience:
At least five years experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process oriented operations and/or related industry. Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Knowledge and experience of operations management.
o Background in wood manufacturing or wood products preferred
o Working knowledge of computer software including company operating system Microsoft Word and Excel.
o Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
o Ability to rapidly adjust to changing priorities based on business needs.
o Possess the ability to work well independently and to lead and direct teams.
o Enjoys working in a high energy and fast paced environment
o Ability to be a team player maintaining an effective working relationship with all levels within the Company.
o Ability to gather data, compile information, and report results.
o Must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritized tasks simultaneously in an organized and timely manner.
o Excellent time management skills.
o Ability to maintain professionalism under stressful situations.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
o Incumbent must be able to use computer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, forklift and various tools associated with mechanical or maintenance trade.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
